feeding the planet
In the last days of October, I went to Milan in Italy with a good friend and former fellow student to experience the large Food Expo, this year with the interesting theme: Feeding the Planet – Energy for Life.
More than 140 contries introduced their cuisine, their traditions and ideas for ensuring that everyone in the future will have a healthy and sustainable diet. That was at least the intention. It was hard to find some of the ideas among loud school classes, popcorn, pancakes and fireworks. A set-up that most of all reminded me of a trip to the amusement park.
The most interesting part was the art exhibition ‘Foods and Arts’ at the Design Museum Triennale in the center of Milan. An exhibition of traditional cookware, cooking methods and gastronomy’s development from 1800 until today.
