Restaurant Day is a worldwide food carnival where anyone can set up a restaurant, café or a bar for a day. Isn’t that great? The restaurant can be anywhere – at the harber, in your courtyard, at your office or at your grannys place – your imagination is the only limit. This year I had the pleasure of visiting 5 restaurants in Copenhagen to taste and photograph their culinary ideas.
CakeAlot served wonderful, sweet valentines cake and cream buns, which worked very well with the hot, indian chai tea served just next to. The young people in Copenhagen also offered homemade vegetarian burgers and hot chilli-dogs which heated the throat and stomach on a gray and freezing cold winter day.
I look forward to when Restaurant Day returns in May, and hope to see many creative food concepts. I will use the waiting to think about what my own restaurant should serve the hungry Danes…
